[Avcheck] Problems building avcheck-0.7

Hello List,
When i try to build avcheck.c i get the following error message:
head:/usr/src/avcheck-0.5 # gcc -O -o -static avcheck.c avcheck
gcc: avcheck: No such file or directory
avcheck.c: In function `main':
avcheck.c:573: parse error before `VERSION'
When i build it like this i get the this error message:
head:/usr/src/avcheck-0.5 # gcc -O -static -o avcheck avcheck.c
avcheck.c: In function `main':
avcheck.c:573: parse error before `VERSION'
I hope anyone has a solution to this problem beceause i need avcheck up =
and running badly....
