upss .. of course ...
one should set the parent dir permission to allow avdaemon
to execute program on it's subdirectory.

e.g change the permission on the parent dierctory to:

drwxr-xr-x  12 root       wheel       512 Dec 20 13:10 .
      ^  ^
-rwxr-xr-x   1 avdaemon   avgroup  373770 Apr  1  2003 kavdaemon

he said, privately, that there is no noexec option on his /etc/fstab.
