Version 0.80 of rbldnsd, daemon for DNSBL systems, was
just released today. There are several significant
changes compared to previously released 0.73 version
(and to unreleased 0.74), which are outlined in brief
below and in full in changelog and news files. As
usual, rbldnsd may be dounloaded free of charge from
http://www.corpit.ru/mjt/rbldnsd.html.
The most significant change happened with command-line
zone specifications. Please read NEWS file, available
at http://www.corpit.ru/mjt/rbldnsd/NEWS, for more
information. In short, instead of
type:zonename
rbldnsd now expects a list of
zonename:type:filename,filename,...
triples in command line. All 3 parts of this triple
are required. This is incompatible change.
Another change is addition of ability to serve other
record types, such as long-awaited NS and SOA records.
This is done by the means of new `generic' data type,
aka simplified bind-style file format - currently
implemented subset should be enouth for rbldnsd to
become complete nameserver.
Please read the NEWS file and manpage for more information
and for usage examples. Both the above change allows one
to flexible mix various data types, data sets and zones
together. For example, one generic type may serve several
subzones with NS and SOA records.
Suggestions about all newly introduced features and changes
are more than welcome. The same applies to bugreports and
a beer... ;)
Enjoy,
