[rbldnsd] Gentoo?

Assuming that /etc/conf.d/rbldnsd is the file that contains :

# /etc/default/rbldnsd
# This file should set one variable, RBLDNSD, to be a multiline
# list of all instances of rbldnsd to start. Every line in that
# list consist of a key (basename for a pid file), and rbldnsd
# command line, e.g.:
#
# RBLDNSD="dsbl -r/var/lib/rbldns/dsbl -b127.2 list.dsbl.org:ip4set:list"
#
# or, using multiple lines and line continuations:
#
# RBLDNSD="dsbl -r/var/lib/rbldns/dsbl -b 127.2 \
# list.dsbl.org:ip4set:list \
# multihop.dsbl.org:ip4set:multihop \
# unconfirmed.dsbl.org:ip4set:unconfirmed \
#
<snip example setups>
#
# See rbldnsd(8) for descriptions of options.
#

Could you please show us a copy of your file (excluding the commented out
lines).
If it does not contain the text above, then you are editing the wrong file
and need to find the one that does.

I have written a config tutorial that is very simplified at:
http://www.techtheft.info/book/dnsbl/

running "man 8 rbldnsd | more" should give you a detailed explanation of the
values that can go in the RBLDNSD="" bit.

We're using postfix and bind9.

Errors we are seeing (rbldnsd: invalid zone spec)

I'm just pretty much not sure where to start in getting this setup for
Gentoo systems.

All the options look to me like they need to be added to the
/etc/conf.d/rbldnsd file.

I've tried so far using some other examples listed for other systems.

If I'm to much of a pain then I apologize.

Thanks in advance
Steve Mosher

What is stuff ?

We can only help you if you give us a little bit more detail about what
you are trying to do. What you've already tried, what error messages
you might get. What you expect it to do.
