I'm running rbldnsd. I'm updating it usually by getting a zone file from a free public rbl mirror. I'm doing it like this way:

rsync -azv rsync-mirrors.uceprotect.net::RBLDNSD-ALL/dnsbl-1.uceprotect.net /var/lib/rbldns/dnsbl-1.uceprotect.net
cat /var/lib/rbldns/dnsbl-1.uceprotect.net > /var/lib/rbldns/spam1

Now, after several days, rbldnsd is no more functioning. There is no logs output in its logfile. There is no error when starting/stopping rbldnsd.

I believe I'm doing the wrong update. I visited man rbldnsd and it was advise there to do not use ">". Instead, use "mv" command to update the zone file.

Is using the ">" could cause why rbldnsd is no more functioning?

Here is my rbldns file:

RBLDNSD="- -r/var/lib/rbldns -b X.X.X.X/53 -l var/log/rbl.log rbl-1.test.rbl:ip4set:spam wlist.test.rbl:ip4set:wlist"

Bind dns server is functioning properly. I set up a new rbldns to another server and edit the file in the bind server and change the ip. I still want to use the old rbldns. Can someone give a hints. There is no debug mode in rbldns
